Kenneth W. Pervine was an instructor at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. During his tenure there he served as choreographic assistant to noted choreographer, Tally Beatty and worked directly with Alvin Ailey. He worked with such renowned choreographers as Ulysses Dove, Penny Frank, Kevin Iega Jeff, Rod Rogers, Milton Meyers, Elizabeth Hard-Simms and Carmine de Lavallade. Mr. Pervine danced professionally with Jubilation! Dance Company, Dayton Contemporary Dance Theatre and Newark Dance Theatre as well as the lead dancer in The Wiz. In addition, Mr. Pervine appeared in several video productions, including projects with Diana Ross, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, L.L Cool J, and Curtis Blow. Mr. Pervine was the artist in residence at the Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey. He taught more than 3,000 students in the KC metropolitan area. He was a featured choreographer with the Westport Ballet of Kansas City, where he was repeatedly commissioned to create major works.
