Soirre depicts an elegant lighthearted evening abroad a luxurious ocean liner during the early days of WW II. The mood comes darker as the prejudices and biases that were the undercurrent of prewar Germany begin to surface and divide the part goers. The audience hears original garbled radio broadcasts and sees flurried war film images that become part of the background sound and scenery. This new production will showcase the talents of Joe Vanek, head designer of the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, Ireland, and Mary Pat Henry, choreographer of “Soiree” and artistic director of Wylliams-Henry Dance Theater.
